The Sacrament of Marriage is described by the Catholic Church as a sacrament of life and love. Christian marriage is best understood as a covenant. It is a covenant (a sacred promise) that the wedding couple shares between each other and a covenant between the couple and God. You enter a commitment to live out your love in a special and unique community of support and generosity. You promise to communicate in love and to share that communication with the world by the way you live your marriage vows together.
In the consent and wedding vows, you, as a couple, agree to lay down your life for the other in unconditional love for one another, an exclusive life-long union to one another, and an openness to children and raising children in the ways of Christ and His Church.
Christ is the center of Christian marriage. Christ promises that He will join His love to yours to make your marriage love redemptive and creative. Christ promises to help and strengthen your love for each other so that you can face the future with confidence and hope.
We here at ST. Vincent de Paul want to make sure that your celebration of this lifelong commitment to each other is a joyful and memorable as it is blessed. We are here to assist you with your liturgy planning, your music opportunities, as well as your requirements to the sacrament. In the sacrament of Marriage, the church requires the following.
Please fell free to contact the office as soon as possible so that we can get all this accomplished in a timely manner.
